Amber, Jeff and Coen in Texas

Our daughter Amber, son-in-law Jeff and grandson Coen came to visit on February 19th.

Here the guys enter the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville.

I would have to say this zoo is just about perfect. It's small enough get around easily but has a nice animal population. They have a new aquarium exhibit that's really nice

This tortoise was so slick!

Sitting down was a much better idea.

We visited the same zoo in 2011. The rhinos now.....

                                                                    And then.........

A sneaky ol" gator then........

And today.......

Coen. Grandpa and Amber at Pirates Landing in Port Isabel

You may not recognize Coen behind the beard!

Note the finger "hooks"

The ship we cruised on, The Black Dragon.

The fiercest of pirates, our guide and teacher.

What a great idea!
Hand out water pistols!
Tell the recruits to shoot their families!

Here a shoot out with a pirate wench!

Two lovely senoritas back up Coen and Dad.

Here we work on getting our sea legs.

A sword fight!

And now we search for booty!

Lots of booty!

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this cruise. The pirates were wonderful with the kids on board, not to mention the adults. All the children were encluded in all the activities and the staff really drew out even the youngest and shyest. I couldn't have been more pleased. Coen was especially pleased to be named the best dancer in the Macarena contest.

.
Now a visit to the beach.
